This course has set me on a journey of really knowing God. I am building a relationship with God that is strong. I have always been a church goer but I didn't really connect with God, my faith, or church. Going to church was simply a fulfillment, an obligation like paying the bills. Now I value church and time spent in prayer. I like the suggested scriptures and meditations. I am learning more about Saint Ignatius. I suggest this course to anyone who wants to build or strengthen their relationship with God. I view God differently now. He is not there to simply correct me but to love me. This course has helped me to know God and who I am to Him.

The ONLY reason I signed up for this course was because it said there was a money-back guarantee. I wan't sure that I wanted to be out that kind of money and possibly not get anything out of it. However, I did enjoy the course and did not ask for my money back. I'm thankful for the time that Tom put into creating the course and making it available.

The text (meditation sheets) have been particularly helpful with my afternoon praying with Scripture sessions. I had felt dry and disconnected from God for months when I came across this online course on prayer. I thought it was going to be an opportunity to learn something, but it was actually an encounter with God! I was surprised that the meditations were so engaging. They were my favorite part, although I liked the informalness of the webinars, too. I feel a renewed energy in prayer.

I'll be honest--I was skeptical about this course. I didn't know Tom and it seemed to be pricey, especially since I wanted the two FaceTime spiritual direction sessions included. The only reason I purchased the course was because he offered a money-back guarantee. However, I really enjoyed the course and the spiritual directions sessions were amazing. I had a spiritual director several years ago, but my experience with Tom was very different--much more meaningful! I recommend the course and the spiritual direction sessions!

I really enjoyed the video lessons and the video webinars. Many of the people on the webinars had the exact same questions that I had and Tom took the time to answer them. I'm grateful that I heard about this course at my church! I had been looking for some spiritual formation, but most of the stuff I found was more like a Bible study or a history study. This course combined some practical ways to deepen the consistency of my prayer life with some meditations to practice with. When I ran across the DeepWardly website, I ended up at the Amazing Prayer course. The material looked interesting, but I wasn't sure where to start. I was not raised in a church, but now I am wanting to find God and find a faith. I heard about Amazing Prayer through Facebook and decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did. While there were a few parts of it that I didn't quite understand (maybe because I haven't been churched), most of it I did and I felt like I finally talked "with" God and not prayed "at" God. After I did Connecting with Christ with my faith formation group, I started the Amazing Prayer course. It was pretty remedial, but I have been praying regularly for quite a few years. However, my husband watched part of a video with me and became interested. He eventually finished the course and really enjoyed it.

For those of you thinking about doing some of the courses and retreats at DeepWardly--start here! I did a couple of the others first and then did the Amazing Prayer course last. I wish I would have started with it. It offered some important basics, many of which I already knew but it was good to hear them again and be reminded.
