Course Description

Do you love art? My passion for art began at a very young age with drawing and painting. Over the course of my life, it has expanded to music, photography, and digital editing. A number of years ago, I began incorporating art into my personal prayer time and it has been an extraordinary experience! I want to share that experience with you!

During this hour-long course, you will learn a brief history of Christian art and how to incorporate art into your personal prayer life through the "Prayer of Consideration" and digitally journaling images!

What you learn during this course will not just be informational, but transformational! It will provide you with a couple of practical spiritual tools for encountering God through art in personal prayer!

Tom Elliott

Tom Elliott is a certified spiritual director and the owner of Deepwardly, LLC. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Saint Meinrad College and a Masters of Divinity from Notre Dame in New Orleans. Tom completed a three-year training program in spiritual direction from the Institute of Priestly Formation at Creighton University. He also received supervision training in spiritual direction from the Sophia Spirituality Center. He is a member of Spiritual Directors International and has been offering spiritual direction and retreats for twenty-five years. In addition to directing and supervising about seventy men and women each month, Tom owns the Deepwardly School of Spiritual Direction, which trains men and women of all faiths in the ministry of spiritual direction. He and his wife, Carmel, also own Cedar Ridge, a retreat center on top of a ridge in central Arkansas. Tom is also the author of the books, "The Intimacy You Desire" and "Becoming Wholehearted".
